Jade Pacific Line Launches New India–Red Sea Shipping Service, Strengthening Regional Container Connectivity

Singapore-based Jade Pacific Line (JPL) has entered the India–Red Sea container shipping market with a new regional service connecting Mundra and Nhava Sheva in India with Karachi in Pakistan and Sokhna in Egypt. The service, which commenced operations on 1 October 2026, adds another shipping option for cargo owners, exporters and freight forwarders operating across the Indian subcontinent and Red Sea trade corridor.
The new route is significant for India’s maritime trade because it introduces additional regional shipping capacity at a time when carriers are adjusting vessel deployments and service networks in response to changing trade patterns and geopolitical uncertainties.

Red Sea Shipping Market and Regional Connectivity

The Red Sea remains an important maritime corridor connecting the Indian Ocean with the Suez Canal and Mediterranean shipping networks.
Shipping companies have been reviewing their route deployments as security conditions and operational requirements evolve. In August 2026, MSC announced the partial restoration of selected services through the Suez Canal, demonstrating how carriers are adjusting their networks in response to regional developments. For Jade Pacific Line, the India–Red Sea service provides an entry into this regional shipping market. Its longer-term potential will depend on customer demand, schedule reliability, vessel utilisation and the ability to maintain commercially viable operations.
